Welcome to Desert Meditations! I’m a retired ELCA pastor living in Tempe, Arizona and have been writing regular meditations for Advent and Lent since 1994. In 2008 Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center began using those reflections in the booklets they distributed to donors, beautiful pieces with amazing photography. This summer, Richard Anderson, the Director of Spirit in the Desert asked if I would be willing to write a daily meditation for their website and I gladly agreed. I’ll be using the assigned Revised Common Lectionary texts for each week and those scriptures will be providing the inspiration for whatever I write.
